Monotype Imaging has introduced the ITC Library, OpenType Edition, featuring the complete works of the International Typeface Corporation. In addition to more than 1,650 typefaces in 1,320 OpenType files on one CD, the library includes 100 new typefaces and over 650 exclusive designs.

OpenType fonts offer cross-platform compatibility between Mac and Windows computers, the ability to access alternate characters without switching to a different font, and the ability to replace multiple characters with ligatures automatically. In addition to the ITC Stone family, the OpenType edition of the ITC library features such designs as the ITC Franklin Gothic, ITC Officina Sans and ITC Conduit text families, and the ITC Edwardian Script and ITC Bradley Hand display designs. The ITC Resavska, ITC Tactile and ITC Stone Humanist typefaces highlight the new releases. Among the typeface designers joining Stone who have contributed to the collection are Mathew Carter, Mark Van Bronkhorst and Herb Lubalin.
